Micah 6 of Austin has received a Phase 1 Rapid Response grant from All Together ATX, a joint effort from Austin Community Foundation and United Way for Greater Austin.
In April, grant funding totaling $1.8M was distributed to 97 nonprofits—including Micah 6—working to support communities experiencing economic and health-related hardships caused by COVID-19 in Central Texas.
This first round of rapid response funding was targeted towards non-profits addressing critical services, including food insecurity, basic needs, medical needs, employment and child care. Micah 6 is using this grant to distribute food for low-income individuals and families seeking assistance through its food pantry and to provide clothing and personal hygiene supplies for at-risk street youth who visit the Drop-In Center.
